We are in Barolo, in the Langhe region of Piedmont, one of the largest viticulture regions in the world. In 2014 these hills, along with parts of Roero and Monferrato, were declared a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Marchesi di Barolo is located right in the heart of the town of Barolo, a small town surrounded by high hills that protect it from bad weather and excessive airflow. This feature, combined with a predominantly clayey and calcareous soil, creates the ideal conditions for the full expression of the nebbiolo grape variety: here you will discover that it has delicacy, harmony and grace along with great strength.

Diversity

Vineyards grow on the hills of Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato, which are relatively small areas with high biodiversity. For this reason, each vineyard is harvested separately and if necessary, grapes are harvested at different times depending on elevation and/or angle differences. In this way, the health and perfect maturity of the fruit is always ensured.

HISTORICAL BAROLO TERROARS

A separate production process is carried out for each vineyard of Barolo. Each product is labeled according to the geographical indications it belongs to..

TOMASSI
History

The historical context of the dreamy Belle Époque gives an idea of the lighthearted and brief breeze that swept through Verona when Giacomo Battista Tommasi married Augusta in 1902 and went to live with her family.

He continued to cultivate the family land in the hills of the Valpolicella. Still, he also began to think about wine not as the thirst-quenching drink, but as a quality product to promote as lively and delectable for celebrations and get-togethers.

Vineyards

Tommasi Viticoltori is within the confines of the Verona province and extends over a total of 242 hectares of vineyards within diverse denominations: 100 hectares fall within well-known Veronese denominations (Doc) including 45 hectares in the Lugana Doc. 115 hectares are under vine in the prestigious Valpolicella Classica and 17 hectares in Valpantena (Valpolicella).
